Once the sun goes down, pedestrians and other vehicles without lights become much harder to see. Depending on road conditions, they may disappear until it’s far too late to stop. That’s what appears to have happened in a recent fatality. 11 Alive reported on the case.
Clayton County police confirmed that a man was struck by a MARTA bus near the intersection of Garden Walk Boulevard and Highway 85. The accident happened on Monday night.
Police say that the victim was not at a crosswalk when he was struck, was wearing dark clothing, and was in a location that had no street illumination. Police are withholding the identity of the victim while they do their investigation.
There was no information in the report about the driver’s condition or operation of the bus at the time of the crash.
