One piece of evidence that police look for to see who was involved in a crash is damage to the vehicle. That’s what gave away a truck driver’s involvement in a hit-and-run crash in Duluth according to WSB TV.
Get the strong arm
The news report says that a semi-truck pushed another car at an intersection into the other lane and caused a wreck, then drove off. The victim says that he was sitting at the red light at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road when he was rear-ended. The truck accelerated and pushed his car into the side of another car.
The truck driver then did a U-turn and drove away, but another driver followed the truck to a nearby restaurant and called the police. Officers located the driver and the driver said he was unaware of any accident.
That’s when the officer told him about the damage to his truck. The bumper was pushed in and touching the passenger tire, and there was paint and plastic belonging to the other car in the indentation. The driver was arrested and charged with multiple offenses.
