A family is seeking answers after a recent ruling in their wrongful death case in Atlanta. WSB TV reported on the matter.
The accident happened back in April, but the family is still seeking answers. They want to know why the accused driver was able to drive nearly a mile in the wrong direction on I-285 at Flat Shoals Parkway before he collided head-on and killed the victim.
The family is still waiting on a preliminary hearing, likely due to the pandemic according to their attorney. The accused driver is facing charges of 1st degree homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, and driving on the wrong side of the road.
The family believes that the driver may also have been intoxicated. However, investigators did not check for intoxication because they had no probable cause. The family questions that decision.
The wheels of the court system turn slow, especially in a major city. We wish to send our condolences to the family of the slain driver and hope they can get their day in court soon.
We also hope that the accused driver’s insurance is able to compensate them for the wrongful death. No amount of money can bring someone back to life, but it can ease the financial burden of their departure.
