WMAZ CBS Channel 13 News reported recently that a recent motor vehicle accident in the Macon area on Thursday, February 18, 2021 blocked traffic along Interstate 75 and led to severe congestion during the morning rush hour.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place on Thursday, February 18, 2021 between 6:25 a.m. and 6:35 a.m.
Eastern Standard Time (EST) along the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Mercer University Drive in the central Georgia city of Macon. A wreck along the left side of the southbound lanes blocked at least one lane of the highway.
While that lane remained closed for several hours for investigation and cleanup, it was reopened as expected around 8:30 a.m. There has been no update as to whether anyone was injured or how many vehicles were involved.
