MARTA is a vital part of Atlanta’s transportation infrastructure. Their familiar trains and buses can be seen all over the city. But sometimes a driver doesn’t pay attention enough and causes a wreck with one of these vehicles.
A serious crash happened in Clayton County earlier today between a MARTA bus and a car at Highway 85 and Valley Hill Road. WSB TV caught footage of the accident showing the bus and the car wedged together into a pole.
Police officers in Riverdale told the station that the car driver ran a red light and hit the bus hard enough to push both cars into the pole. Both drivers and a bus passenger were injured in the crash, but none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening. You can see the video of the aftermath in the link above.
Get the strong arm
The meanings of red lights and stop signs are one of the first things we learn about road safety, even as children. When the light is red, you stop! Yellow does not mean “speed up”! The few seconds you might save by running a red light aren’t worth the money and injury of getting in an intersection crash.
Take your time, and you and your car will arrive at your destination in one piece. That said, if someone else fails to follow the rules and hits you, contact John Foy & Associates for a free consultation.
