Forsyth County News reported recently that a recent motor vehicle accident in Forsyth County on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in which a pedestrian was struck and killed after entering the roadway.
According to officials from the Cumming Police Department and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 between 6:05 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) along Castleberry Road, near Tolbert Street in Cumming.
A man 63 years of age was walking down the sidewalk adjacent to the southbound lanes of the roadway when he stepped into the roadway and was struck by a passing vehicle traveling in the outside lane.
The driver was unable to avoid the impact. There was reportedly no evidence of any alcoholic or other impairment. The crash remains under investigation.
