The Atlanta Police Department put out a press release describing an accident that they thought was caused by gunshots.
Last Saturday in the evening, officers received a call about someone being shot. They went to 195 Fairburn Road NW to investigate and render aid. They found two women, one who look liked they got clipped by a car and the other who looked like they were grazed with gunfire.
Both of the women were able to respond to the officer’s questions. They said that a man driving an older model Mercedes entered their complex and started shooting from the vehicle and hit one of the women before leaving.
Upon later investigation by Grady Medical staff, neither of the women were hit by a stray bullet, but they did get hit by the vehicle. Police are treating it like a hit-and-run accident and are searching for the driver.
No information has been released about any possible connection between the driver and the two women. The investigation continues.
If the women’s statement is accurate, we hope that the police are able to find and apprehend the driver. It’s extremely reckless to fire any sort of weapon out of a vehicle, not to mention illegal.
We also hope both women recover fully from their injuries.
