It can take months or even years for police to track down a hit-and-run driver. Sadly, some cases are never solved. Sometimes the police ask for the public’s help to find the responsible driver, like in this case.
11 Alive has reported that police are still seeking the driver in a case that killed a woman two months ago. The accident happened on May 16 at Metropolitan Parkway and St. Johns near Sylvan Hills.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found a wrecked car and a critically injured woman outside. The driver of the car stated that their car was hit by an ATV while making a left turn onto St. John’s Avenue.
The injured woman was a passenger on the ATV and fell off in the crash. The male driver of the ATV did not stay at the scene. Police took the injured woman to Grady Hospital, but she died there from her injuries.
Police have released a surveillance video today of the suspect at a gas station. You can view the video at the news link above. The police are also offering a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the driver.
