A few days ago, we made a post about two workers who were shocked at a Canton construction site. We now have an update on their condition from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The two workers are still in the hospital facing a long road of recovery. Both men received numerous burns from the electricity. The worse of the two sustained second- and third-degree burns “that will take months to recover from”, according to an update on the GoFundMe page put up for their medical expenses. The other man has already undergone a skin graft for burns to his face and arms.

The accident happened at the Holiday Inn construction site on Reinhardt College Parkway. Firefighters had to cut off the power to reach the men safely. They rushed both to Grady Memorial Hospital’s burn center. The worse of the pair has since been transferred to another location for more specialized care, and faces numerous surgeries.
Recovery from a burn injury is a slow and painful process, and one with a high risk of infection. We hope that the recovery goes as smoothly as it can, and that the builder’s worker’s compensation insurance pays for the bills. OSHA is surely investigating the cause for the electrical panel failure.
