Police are on the lookout for a man they believe is responsible for a fatal car wreck in Athens. They have obtained warrants for the arrest of Juan Manuel Romer Garrido. Fox 5 Atlanta reports.
Garrido has been charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, DUI alcohol, failure to maintain lane and driving without a valid license.
The fatal accident happened in Athens on Tallassee Road between Christa Lane and Ramble Hills Drive between a Jeep Wrangler and a Chevrolet Tahoe. One person was killed and two others besides Garrido were injured.
Garrido was the driver of the Tahoe and was hospitalized after the accident, but recovered and left before police could obtain warrants. Now police are asking the public for information about his location.

We wish to extend our condolences to the family of the slain 50-year-old in that crash, and hope that the other passengers recovered. Those responsible for fatal accidents need to account for their actions to the courts.
The police stated in their warrants that Garrido was intoxicated at the time of the accident, but they did not explain to the press what their evidence was.
