Fox 5 News Atlanta reported recently that a tragic motor vehicle accident involving five vehicles occurred in the northeastern Georgia region of Banks County, along Interstate 85 near Commerce on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
According to officials with the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT), the incident took place around 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, February 27, 2021 near mile marker 149 of Interstate 85 northbound, just north of the city of Commerce in Banks County. The accident involved at least four cars and a truck, although injury information was not reported.
The accident closed the left lane of the highway in the area of GA State Route 15 and U.S. Highway 441/ Officials estimated it would take until 4:00 p.m. EST to clear the wreck from the travel lanes. The accident is still under investigation.
